The woman who was caught in the very ‘act’ in John 8 was certainly guilty of the charges being brought against her. Under normal circumstances, she would have been stoned to death or forgotten.
So what made the difference in her situation? She was surrounded by blood thirsty men, with stones in hands, chomping at the bit to kill her.
The laws (at that time) support their actions; she had no defense that could save her. So what made the difference?
Perhaps you are in a place of great difficulty; maybe it’s your fault or you may be a victim of circumstances beyond your control. It seems all analyses are yielding the same negative projection for you; there seems to be no way to recover.
What the circumstances of the woman in John 8 and perhaps your own have failed to calculate is the impact of Grace in the room; both yours and hers.
When Jesus stood up in the room of the accused and guilty woman, Grace was standing and could not be overcome in legalism but brought unearned favor and freedom.
Grace is in your room right now. Wherever you are, receive its favor and freedom now.
Thank God for Grace!
