Peter walked on water to go to Jesus [Matthew 14:28 – Then Peter called to him, “Lord, if it’s really you, tell me to come to you, walking on the water.”] but followed Him afar on land or on occasions [Matthew 26:58 – Meanwhile, Peter followed him at a distance and came to the high priest’s courtyard. He went in and sat with the guards and waited to see how it would all end.]
I think we can sometimes be so caught up in the “here after” that we neglect what we need to be after here.
Dear friends, let’s keep it simple! It is not the next great revelation or the signs and wonders that God requires of us but to simply follow the admonition in Micah 6:8 [No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.]
This is for land walkers; the rest will take care of itself. As you walk on land today, walk in the spirit of Micah 6:8’s instructions:
• Do what is right!
• Love mercy!
• Walk humbly with your God!
Enjoy the journey!
