The Bible warns us that gratitude is something that will significantly evade those in our current cultural context.
II Timothy 3:1-2 NKJV) – But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…
Self consideration is the chief tool the enemy uses to dim the perspective of believers.
The Bible, however, is replete with instructions related to gratefulness.
Philippians 4:6-7 (NKJV) – Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
I Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) – In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Hebrews 13:15 (NKJV) – Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
Take a moment today to think about the many things for which we can be thankful.
Take another moment and with a grateful heart follow the instruction in Hebrews 13:15; give Him thanks!
