Much emphasis has been placed on protection in our country since 9/11. New agencies with the single purpose of protecting American citizens were created and many other measures were taken. Yet we have become aware of their limitations related to our ability to protect ourselves.
There is an awareness that no matter what we do, we are yet vulnerable to attacks of enemies, foreign and domestic.
I watched a documentary of a gun store owner in his shop showing pistols to someone he thought was a prospective customer. The store owner had two pistols strapped to his waist. I am sure he felt safe in his gun-rich environment. Until the customer pulled out a gun from under his shirt and shot the store owner several times and proceeded to rob him. Thank God the store owner survived the attack. I am sure he has a different sense of safety related to gun ownership.
Unlike natural human protection, God offers us supernatural protection that cannot fail.
Consider the following and meditate on these scriptures and then appropriate protection by confessing them daily over you and yours.
1. God looks for me to protect me.
2 Chronicles 16:9 – For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.
2. Thank God I am surrounded.
Psalm 34:7 – The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.
3. I am blessed and preserved.
Psalm 41:2 – The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, and he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies.
4. I am covered.
Psalm 91:4 – He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5. He’s got my back.
Isaiah 58:8 – Then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
