Daily Word for Sunday, June 7, 2015
As we face the many facets of the week ahead, I want you to do so considering what the Holy Spirit makes available to you.
Dear friend, you don’t have to go it alone, whether it is known or unknown; He is there to help.
Jesus says in John 14:16 that “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever.”
Dear friend, we have help. What follows are just some of the ways in which the Holy Spirit helps us.
When we allow Him to aid us in prayer, He:
1. Helps us to build our inner man.
1 Corinthians 14:4 – He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.
• We get supernaturally charged.
2. Helps us to receive revelation and needed insights.
1 Corinthians 14:2c – …however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
3. Helps to share in God’s purpose for our prayer.
Romans 8:26 – Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weakNeed Help? Reach Out To God.nesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
4. Helps us to pray for others.
Hebrews 7:25 – Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
5. Helps us to connect with God spiritually.
1 Corinthians 14:14 – For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Take a moment to meditate on how the Holy Spirit helps you and find application for His help in your life today.
