We are Better Together - revised

In our Forty (40) Days of Connecting Campaign, we discovered that God said that we are better together; that we cannot fulfill our life’s purpose by ourselves.

In fact, God said, “It is not good for man to be alone.” We don’t need a crowd but we need a small community.

We have been wired for relationships. You and I were made for a mission. I Timothy 2:4 says, “…who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.

God wants us to partner with Him in reaching out in love to people who need to know Him. This includes our friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.

God wants you and me to show His love to those who don’t know Him. God has a purpose for everyone; Christ died for all of them.

He wants you and me to share the good news of Christ and His love.

The Bible says in Philippians 1:27, “Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.”

We need partners to help us fulfill our purpose in life. The Bible says in Philippians 1:5, “For you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.”

I am going to use the word PARTNER as an acronym and over the next seven (7) days, we will discover tools that we need to be effective at winning the Lost.

The first letter is P which stands for “Pray together.” I want you to find someone to partner with and together begin to pray for those friends, family members, coworkers, etc., who you would like to see come to Christ.

We can’t force them to come to Christ but we can pray for them. Prayer softens hard hearts, warms cold hearts, arouses apathetic hearts and changes stubborn hearts.

Pray the Colossians 4:3 prayer [Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains].

Make a list of the people you know and love who don’t have a relationship with Christ. Start praying with your partner daily; pray for each other’s list.

God will be smiling while you pray!

Two is better than one and a threefold cord is not easily broken. I believe it is imperative that the church come together to pray for the loss, and stand on the word of God during these tumultuous times.

Our 40 days of connecting at GCFI was a good start for us to share our testimonies and develop a comfort level sharing with familiar members.
Now is the time for us to team up and pray for God to lead us to areas, or people to pray for or share the good news of the Kingdom. We’ve been blessed to learn under Pastor and we need to carry those teachings into the world.
We need to know the Word, but we don’t need to be bishops to be effective. I’ve found most people already know about Jesus, and verses like John 3:16. However, people don’t have that relationship, and don’t know individual testimonies unless we witness. When people learn of the good things Jesus has done through our testimonies they will often want to know more about coming into a relationship with our Savior.

  3. I love todays word, we definitely need to step our game up when it comes to witnessing. We have to go in operation B.O.B. mode. B.O.B. = (BRING ONE BACK).
We’re at a fantastic church with a dynamic Pastor and if we get people through the doors we’ll accomplish our goal. God bless!
