Dress for Success - Final2

I Samuel 30:7 – Then David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech’s son, “Please bring the ephod here to me.” And Abiathar brought the ephod to David.

The Bible is replete with scriptures encouraging believers to Dress for Success; metaphorically speaking. We are to put on forgiveness, peace, kindness, humility, compassion, patience, joy, meekness, etc.

David ensured he was dressed for success before he inquired of the Lord. He asked for the ephod, which is a type of garment of worship or praise.

We must determine whether we are putting on the garment of praise or some earthly garment when we approach God. God is calling us to strip the temporal and put on the eternal.

Too much of our time is spent ensuring we have on clothing that won’t make a significant difference in our temporal or eternal life.

These are times that try a person’s soul; how we fare in these times is corollary to what we wear.

Consider the following recommended garments to put on:

• Put on the garment of praise.

• Put on the garment of salvation.

• Put on the robe of righteousness.

• Put on love.

• Put on holiness.

• Put on the whole armor of God.

Let this mind be in you today as you “dress for success” in Christ.

Peace and blessings!

  1. God makes everything we need available to us, we must take hold of it and wear it so that we may have good success. Lord, help me to put on the garments you have so freely given to me that I may glorify you in all that I do.

Dressing for success can be the most difficult area in my life. The man or woman that we are wants to react to a situation instead of being like David and inquiring of God first. For many people that could mean getting mad, being unforgiving, impatient, etc.
This is a timely word for me and by learning to think about the eternal in a situation, it’s helping me dress for success.
