Ask God for Direction - Final

One of the many ways we are tempted in the midst of crisis, is to become impatient and move ahead without consulting God.

In I Samuel 30:8, David asks God for direction and receives it; [So David inquired of the LORD, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”]

The pressure from outside threats can push us to self-reliance but don’t fall for it. Take a moment right now to read and meditate on Psalm 27:1-5 and allow God to take control of every level of your concerns.

Psalm 27:1-5The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. 4 One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple. 5 For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.

The battle you’ll fight will be between your compulsion to do and your need to wait on God.

Allow the following scriptures to aid and direct your waiting:

Psalm 27:14Wait on the LORD; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the LORD!

Psalm 37:7Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

Psalm 123:2Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He has mercy on us.

Isaiah 30:18Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; and therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.

Psalm 25:2O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me.

My friend, look to God, wait on Him as He will never leave nor forsake you. Meditate on these scriptures and strengthen yourself.

Peace and blessings!

    Amen PT.
Sometimes the crises is because of our own doing. We didn’t want to listen to God and God waited with long suffering for us to come back to Him.

So when we finally seek God’s counsel we can’t expect Him to fix everything or hook it up on our time. Trust in our Lord to fight our battles and He will if we operate in faith.
