Manna For Today: Sunday, November 29, 2015
1. Fighting temptation and negative thoughts.
I Peter 5:8 – Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
II Corinthians 10:5 – …casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
2. Fighting strife in relationships.
Matthew 12:25 – But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.
Matthew 18:15-16 – Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’
3. Fighting with prayer to remain strong in the Lord.
Jude 20 – But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 6:13 – And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
4. Fighting in prayer for others.
Ephesians 6:18 – Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.
I Timothy 2:1-4 – Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
5. Fighting in intercession and travailing for the lives of others.
Romans 8:26 – Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Galatians 4:19 – My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you.
Fight on, my friend, fight on!
Peace and blessings!
