Manna For Today: Monday, December 21, 2015
Temptations of all types are faced by believers every day. It’s unfortunate that there doesn’t seem to be a culture in the Body of Christ where open dialogue is encouraged and people feel comfortable disclosing areas in their lives that challenge them.
Well, I am so happy to tell you that your Heavenly Father is very open to dialoguing with you with regards to temptation in your life and has made many promises to those who are tempted in whatever manner today.
Consider this list of promises God makes to the tempted and never feel isolated or alone in your struggle again:
1. Power to tread upon evil forces
Luke 10:19 – Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
• Walk in this light and you will win your fight.
2. Safety through Christ’s intercession
Luke 22:31-32 – And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
• Did Christ’s prayers get answered?
3. The bruising of the serpent’s head
Romans 16:20 – And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
• Waiting on God is simply outlasting your temptation.
4. Provision of a way of escape
I Corinthians 10:13 – No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
• Begin to declare right now, “I’m coming out.”
5. Comfort in the tough times
Hebrews 2:18 – For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
• Jesus is your greatest Advocate and Supporter!
6. Find victory
James 4:7 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
I John 4:4 – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
• You will experience the thrill of victory.
7. Enthronement with Christ
Revelation 3:21 – To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
• Get ready to take your seat!
God is not embarrassed by your temptations and has made awesome provisions for success in getting to the other side of it. So take courage right now, talk to your Heavenly Father who understands and is eager to aid you in overcoming.
Also, find a mature brother or sister who is spiritual [Galatians 6:1] to walk with you through life’s issues.
You are not alone; don’t put energy into hiding that you can put into healing.
Peace and blessings!
