Manna For Today: Thursday, November 3, 2016
No matter what you are facing or will face in life, know that God has provided His Word to encourage your journey! Below are some principles that will aid you in your daily walk:
1. Cut through the noise of life by listening to God.
II Timothy 4:3-4 – For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.
Isaiah 33:15-16 – He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, He who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing bribes, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed, and shuts his eyes from seeing evil: He will dwell on high; His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks; bread will be given him, His water will be sure.
Matthew 11:15 – He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Romans 10:17 – So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
2. Be Opportunity-conscious as it relates to the Great Commission.
John 9:4 – I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.
3. Unite with Christ and each other in His mission.
Matthew 28:18-20 – And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
4. Righteousness is our chief resource.
Romans 5:1-5 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope. Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
Romans 5:17 – For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
5. Know that the Angelic Host is on assignment for us.
Hebrews 1:14 – Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?
6. Expect His Glory to manifest in every detail of our life.
Psalm 24:7-8 – Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
John 11:40 – Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
7. Express God’s goodness to everyone you can.
Genesis 1:4, 10, 18 – And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas. And God saw that it was good… and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.
Psalm 107:1 – Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 31:19 – Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men!
Psalm 16:2 – O my soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord, my goodness is nothing apart from You.”
