Manna For Today: Friday, April 14, 2017
Isaiah 53:7 – He [Jesus] was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth.
This, for all mankind, is a really good Friday! Said to be the Friday preceding Easter Sunday and it’s the day Christ was crucified on the cross. We celebrate this Friday because His death was a sacrifice, enabling you and I to receive the gift of eternal life.
The pain and suffering He experienced were for our redemption and healing. It was our sin, shame and burden on the cross. We can’t really understand the gravity of change that is represented by the cross. What the devil and people meant for evil in killing Christ, God meant for our good.
We have much to celebrate! Thank God for His mercy and grace, for His love and kindness toward even those who are in tension with Him. What a mighty God we serve.
Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice and suffering; help us to show our gratitude through our service to others in your name.
Remember, you are loved!
Peace and blessings!
