Romans 3:23 – Everyone has sinned and is far away from God’s saving presence.
In life we must put both our successes and failures in perspective. Everyone fails! We as believers should get an award for our acting. We create a culture in the church in which people just aren’t comfortable admitting their faults, failures and fears. We act as if we’ve got it all together when, in truth, it’s all falling apart.
How refreshing it would be to be self-revealing instead of being self-concealing. We waste energy hiding that we could use for healing. Many of our struggles with intimacy (“into-me-see”) can be traced to the unresolved issues we’ve either refused to or failed to bring to resolution so we continue wearing masks.
If you are a superstar athlete, you’ve lost as much as you’ve won. The best hitters in baseball have the worst strikeouts. The best shooter in basketball have missed at least fifty percent of the shots.
My friend, failing is an equal opportunity employer. So what do you do? You do what the Word of God says. Proverbs 24:16 reads, “No matter how often honest people fall, they always get up again.” You get back up and keep moving forward in God daily!
Remember, you are loved!
Peace and blessings!
