Manna For Today: Monday, January 8, 2018
Philippians 3:12 – Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
Embracing right thinking about myself and others is a noble goal for all of us in 2018. Assessing ourselves by other people’s opinions is a major enemy to right thinking. Eleanor Roosevelt was quoted saying, “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Equally damaging to healthy thoughts are those thoughts that fail to include our Father in our analysis.
Don Shelby said, “When we tell ourselves, ‘I can never change’ or ‘that will never happen,’ we presume too much and believe too little. In Jesus Christ, God renders all of our final conclusions premature and all of our talks of determination as simple bad faith. In Christ, God opens closed doors, brings resurrection, reveals possibilities, reclaims the lost, liberates the cursed and possessed and changes the unchangeable.”
My friend, you may not be where you desire to be yet, but in Christ you don’t have to be stuck where you are. You are a work in progress and the work is progressing.
Remember, you are loved!
Peace and blessings!
