Trust God!

Manna For Today: Saturday, June 6, 2020

Proverbs 29:25The fear of man will prove to be a snare. But whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

Much of our day can be consumed by managing the opinions of people. What makes our pain worse is putting all that effort in and still being disappointed or hurt because our effort failed to achieve what we wanted.

We are a nation of approval junkies; what do people think about me and everything else. The internet comes along and enables us in some ways to widen the gap through us becoming hi-tech, low-touch people. We lose the skills needed to develop and maintain relationship.

God, in His infinite wisdom, gives us the answer to our dilemma; simple trust Him and be safe. Areas of fear or insecurities in our lives reveal where we have neglected to trust God.

Think about where you’re insecure or afraid and commit to trusting God right there and right now!

Remember, you are loved!

Seek God’s Approval Only!

Manna For Today: Friday, June 5, 2020

John 12:42-44 But many believed in Jesus, even many of the leaders. But because of the Pharisees, they did not say they believed in him for fear they would be put out of the synagogue. 43 They loved praise from people more than praise from God. 44 Then Jesus cried out, “Whoever believes in Me is really believing in the One who sent Me.”

Needing the approval of people will make you vulnerable to many negatives including manipulation, peer pressure, lying, unhealthy relationships, loneliness, depression and much more.

Make a decision today to not be like those believers in John 12:42-44; commit to seeking God’s approval alone and enjoy the freedom that it brings.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Allow God’s Light To Dispel Your Darkness

Manna For Today: Thursday, June 4, 2020

Psalm 27:1The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Light is always luminescent, protective and energizing; because of it we are able to see and be more than we would in the darkness of fear. It is the light of God’s presence that causes David to walk in courage in Psalm 23, where he reports a capacity to ‘fear no evil’ because of an awareness of God’s presence.

Today, practice an awareness of God’s presence especially in moments where you are tempted to fear people.

Memorize Psalm 27:1 and rehearse it at those times. Say it out of your mouth, under your breath or in your heart if you need to. Watch the light of our Lord dispel all fears in your life.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Slaying Your Giants: Trust God

Manna For Today: Wednesday, June 3, 2020

I Samuel 17:38-40So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.

Know that when you’re confronting your giant, don’t change or allow others to change your strategy. If you have put on the unfamiliar, take it off. Work with what’s been working for you; it may appear to be less than what you need but in God’s purpose it is more than enough.

Trust God, not your resources!

Remember, you are loved!

You Can Face Your Giant!

Manna For Today: Tuesday, June 2, 2020

I Samuel 17:32-37 Then David said to Saul, “Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine.” 33 And Saul said to David, “You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for you are a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.” 34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37 Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the LORD be with you!”

Know that you can face any giant as long as you have the strength of resolve that results from divine conviction. Your experience with God in the ordinary course of your life will prepare you for experiencing God in the extraordinary seasons of your life.

Practice God’s presence and resource in the seemingly insignificant areas of your life and watch God work in the seemingly more significant areas of your life.

Remember, you are loved!

Slaying Your Giants: Practice Patience

Manna For Today: Monday, June 1, 2020

I Samuel 17: 29-31 “Now what have I done?” said David. “Can’t I even speak?” He then turned away to someone else and brought up the same matter, and the men answered him as before. What David said was overheard and reported to Saul, and Saul sent for him.

Know that God knows how to properly position you for your assignment. Sometimes God makes us aware of an assignment without letting us know the detail we need. He will make you aware of what you need to know at the appropriate time. In the interim, don’t work to promote yourself as your gift will make room for you [Proverbs 11:16 A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men].

Wait on the Lord with faith and patience; practice waiting today.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Slaying Your Giants…

Manna For Today: Sunday, May 31, 2020

I Samuel 17:28 When Eliab, David’s oldest brother, heard him speaking with the men, he burned with anger at him and asked, “Why have you come down here? And with whom did you leave those few sheep in the wilderness? I know how conceited you are and how wicked your heart is; you came down only to watch the battle.”

• Know that in some instances the people closest to you will not be happy with your new resolve.

So what do you do? You remember what God has called you to do and move forward. While the plan that God has for your life will be met with resistance, the resistance will not be able to resist your divine purpose in God.

Get moving now and trust your Heavenly Father with abandonment.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!
