Slaying Your Giants: Trust God

Manna For Today: Wednesday, June 3, 2020

I Samuel 17:38-40So Saul clothed David with his armor, and he put a bronze helmet on his head; he also clothed him with a coat of mail. 39 David fastened his sword to his armor and tried to walk, for he had not tested them. And David said to Saul, “I cannot walk with these, for I have not tested them.” So David took them off. 40 Then he took his staff in his hand; and he chose for himself five smooth stones from the brook, and put them in a shepherd’s bag, in a pouch which he had, and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.

Know that when you’re confronting your giant, don’t change or allow others to change your strategy. If you have put on the unfamiliar, take it off. Work with what’s been working for you; it may appear to be less than what you need but in God’s purpose it is more than enough.

Trust God, not your resources!

Remember, you are loved!

My Confidence Is In God…

Manna For Today: Thursday, May 21, 2020

II Corinthians 4:18While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

How I see and process my life’s events are under God’s authority. Everything I see is subject to change, as a result, I no longer place my confidence in what I see but instead, I place it in God.

My friend, be encouraged today; God is mindful of you and He is working things out on your behalf right now.

II Corinthians 1:20Jesus says yes to all of God’s many promises. It is through Jesus that we say, “Let it be so,” when we give thanks to God.

Remember, you are loved!

You Have Peace With God!

Manna For Today: Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Romans 5:1Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

Peace for the believer is the result of what faith in Christ has appropriated. It’s ours for the taking. The enemy of your soul doesn’t want you to know or believe that that’s why he fights so hard to disturb your peace. For us it’s a choice; will you choose peace today or anxiety?

I’ve experienced them both and found peace to be the better of the two. They are both caused by the same thing; what I see. Choose peace today!

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Trust In God: A Decision That Results In Confidence

Manna For Today: Thursday, May 14, 2020

Psalm 56:3But when I am afraid, I will put my confidence in you.

Who or what are you trusting? Your answer to that question determines how you are functioning. Trust in God is a decision that results in confidence. If your confidence is anemic it is likely that your trust in God is also.

Putting our trust in things and stuff will only result in disappointment. Temporal things promise big but deliver little. Reset your default to absolute trust in God and walk in that knowing that not one of His promises has ever failed.

Choose to trust the promises of God and grow your confidence.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Be Strong In The Lord Today!

Manna For Today: Monday, May 11, 2020

Deuteronomy 31:6Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

The goodness of God cannot be measured, His mercy and grace have no boundary.

He encourages us to become what He enables us to be; ‘strong and courageous.’

He gives us a sense of freedom and well-being no matter who they are who threaten us; ‘do not be afraid or terrified because of them.’

He’s there with us when we need Him; ‘for the Lord your God goes with you.’

He doubles down on His commitment to us; ‘He will never leave you nor forsake you.’

How wonderful is our God!

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!

Right Word At The Right Time!

Manna For Today: Monday, March 23, 2020

Proverbs 25:11-12A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. 12 Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear.

Sometimes in life the need for the right word at the right time can be analogous to the need for water in dry desert. If you have not experienced this need yet, you will during your journey at some point; a word of encouragement after a failure, a word of hope after a diagnosis, a word of comfort after a loss or a word of wisdom when making tough decision.

Whatever the situation, that right word at the right time can have tremendous impact. It can be the difference between moving forward or giving up. How many destinies have been negatively impacted, if not lost, because of the lack of a simple word of encouragement during a down time!

On the other hand, think about the number of people who are walking in their destinies because someone gave a word of hope, comfort or wisdom just at the right time. We never know when we are the person at that time in someone’s life.

So what do we do?

We pray and ask God to give us a daily Word in season to whomever He has to cross our path. We ask also that He would season our words with His grace to the end that they accomplish His purpose in that person’s life.

A word I’d like to leave with you today in addition to Proverbs 25:11-12 [A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. 12 Like a gold ring or an ornament of gold is a wise reprover to a listening ear] is Isaiah 41:10 [Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand].

Be encouraged in your King!

Remember, you are loved!

Caring For The Body Of Christ!

Manna For today: Thursday, March 19, 2020

The Bible is replete with scriptures that instruct on how to care for each other. Sometimes the pace of our lives causes us to speed by opportunities to provide the needed healing or restoration in the life of a brother or sister.

Take a moment today and consider the ways in which God instructs us to interact with ‘one another.’

1. Avoid boasting, competition and envy.

Galatians 5:26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

2. Lighten someone’s load.

Galatians 6:2Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

3. Let God expand your capacity to handle the difficult parts of ‘one another’ lives.

Ephesians 4:2With all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love

4. Let love go before you in all your relationships.

Ephesians 4:32And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

5. Pray for ‘one another.’

Ephesians 5:19Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.

Remember, you are loved!

Peace and blessings!
