The Blessed Assurance of Our Heavenly Father

The way we think in a challenge really does shape its outcome in many cases. Not only is the outcome impacted but the “going through” experience is significantly influenced by our thinking in real time.

While it may not be a top-of-mind thought daily, our insurance coverage in various areas provide us a sense of well-being. When a crisis occurs we don’t hesitate to avail ourselves of the benefits related to the coverage.

Imagine someone, with the needed coverage, having a crisis but acting or emoting like one who is not covered. The fear would be needless, the frustration would be unnecessary and the sense of failure would be unfounded. Why? Because you have paid the privileges of having proper resources at critical times.

Friends, in the same way Christ, on the cross, has paid for our having exceedingly great and precious promises to deal with every challenge or crisis that we may be confronted with.

Consider the following promises that God has provided for you in your assurance policy written in the blood of Jesus.

1. Brighter days.

Psalm 30:5 – For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

• You may be experiencing a “dark night of your soul” season. Know that light and life are there; its changing as you read.

2. Deliverance

Psalm 34:19 – Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

• When it seems there is no hope for you, raise your hands, look to heaven and begin to thank your Father, the Great Deliverer and know He has not forgotten you. Thank Him in advance!

3. Divine care in sickness

Psalm 41:3 – The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.

• God will enable you even on a sick bed. Receive His peace that surpasses understanding.

No matter what is confronting you or yours today, know that His grace is sufficient for you. Lean in and receive the support you need right now.

Developing My Spiritual Perception

There is much conversation about our need to become more sensitive spiritually but how do we accomplish that?

These 3 observations can help you:

  1. Develop your life in Christ via His Word.

Luke 4:4 – But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone.’”

  1. Determine to think Christ-like thoughts.

Philippians 2:5 – You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

2 Corinthians 10:5 – We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

  1. Deepen your spiritual aptitude through the spiritual disciplines.
  • Daily prayer

Ephesians 6:18 – Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

  • Daily Bible reading

Psalm 119:11 – I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

  • Daily contact with believers

Proverbs 27:17 – As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.

  • Daily serving

Hebrews 6:10 – For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

Mark 10:45 – For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.
